Fast Facts About Frisco

  • Origin of the Town: Along with the rest of the country, Frisco was hit by the Great Depression in the 1930s. The permanent population dropped to only 18 people, but it was one of the few mining towns in the area to continue its practice. As the years went on, the population began to grow and by 1946, there were 50 permanent residents in the town. Frisco remained a sleepy mining town until the introduction of the ski industry.
  • Elevation: Frisco is situated 9,097 feet above sea level.
